On the occasion of the Mass In Coena Domini on Holy Thursday, a new app is available from today in St. Peter’s Basilica, designed to accompany the faithful who take part in the main liturgical celebrations.
It is a simple and immediate tool that makes it possible to follow the hymns and the Liturgy of the Word in four languages: Italian, English, French and Spanish.
Access is intuitive: it is enough to scan the QR code displayed at the entrances to the celebrations. No registration and no app download are required: the content of the day’s celebration is available directly on one’s device, quickly and easily.
Indeed, every day faithful and pilgrims from all over the world take part in Holy Mass in the Vatican Basilica, often without the possibility of following the liturgy in their own language in its entirety. This new solution responds to a concrete and everyday need, offering useful support for participation in and understanding of the rite.
It is a small et meaningful gesture of welcome, making the moment of faith, recollection and spirituality more accessible and shared, in keeping with the universal dimension of St. Peter’s Basilica.
