“Walking on Water” opens a series of three catecheses exploring the story and humanity of Peter, marking the Fourth Centenary of the Dedication of St Peter’s Basilica.
On Tuesday, 3 November 2026, at 7:00 p.m., the first gathering of Narrationes Petri will take place at the Altar of the Chair in St Peter’s Basilica, led by Friar Roberto Pasolini, OFM Cap., Preacher of the Papal Household.
Entitled “Walking on Water”, the gathering will trace Peter’s calling through some of the most significant Gospel passages: from the miraculous catch of fish to walking on water, culminating in his profession of faith and his struggle to accept the announcement of the cross. At the heart of the catechesis is the journey of a man whose life encompasses both boldness and uncertainty, called to grow in trust and allow himself to be guided by Christ.
Organised to mark the Fourth Centenary of the Dedication of the Basilica, the series offers a reflection on the apostle’s humanity in the service of the Church and God’s plan, preparing participants for the celebration on 18 November.
The series will continue on 10 November with “Recognising Ourselves in Weakness” and on 17 November with “Opening Wide the Doors”, both at 7:00 p.m. at the Altar of the Chair.
Registration on Eventbrite is required to attend the first gathering.
