From denial to pastoral mission, through mercy: the second gathering in the series dedicated to the Apostle Peter, marking the Fourth Centenary of the Dedication of St Peter’s Basilica.
On Tuesday, 10 November 2026, at 7:00 pm, the Altar of the Chair in St Peter’s Basilica will host the second gathering of Narrationes Petri, led by Friar Roberto Pasolini OFM Cap., Preacher of the Papal Household.
Entitled “Recognising Ourselves in Weakness”, the gathering will invite participants to reflect on Peter’s frailty: from his denial of Christ to his encounter with Christ’s mercy, and ultimately to his mission of caring for the community.
At the heart of the catechesis is the journey of a man called to confront his own limitations and discover that failure does not have the final word on his life. Through the experience of forgiveness, Peter finds himself able once again to respond to the Lord’s love and embrace the pastoral responsibility entrusted to him.
The gathering is part of a series of three catecheses exploring the Apostle’s story and humanity, offered to mark the Fourth Centenary of the Dedication of St Peter’s Basilica.
