On the occasion of the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, a solemn Eucharistic celebration will take place on Thursday, 4 June, in St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican.
At 6:00 p.m., at the Altar of the Chair, the Solemn Holy Mass will be presided over by His Eminence Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, Archpriest of the Papal Basilica of St Peter in the Vatican and Vicar General of His Holiness for Vatican City.
The celebration of Corpus Christi, instituted to honour the mystery of the Eucharist, offers all the faithful a unique opportunity to renew their devotion and bear witness to the real presence of Christ in the consecrated Host.
At the conclusion of the Holy Mass, the traditional Eucharistic Procession will take place in St Peter’s Square: a moment of intense prayer and communal adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, in the heart of Christianity.
