On Saturday, 3 October, a Concert of Sacred Music will take place at the Altar of the Chair in St Peter’s Basilica, offering a moment of listening and reflection through sacred music.

The programme will open with two compositions by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina: Sicut cervus and the Kyrie from the Missa Brevis. These will be followed by Ave verum by Edward Elgar, Locus iste by Anton Bruckner and Jubilate Deo by Renzi. The concert will conclude with Tu es Petrus by Lorenzo Perosi.

A musical journey inviting prayer and contemplation through works from different periods and musical traditions, in the heart of the Basilica.
