On Saturday, June 27, at 4:00 PM, at the Altar of the Chair in St. Peter's Basilica, the Spiritual Uplift will be performed by the Cappella Musicale Giulia Choir.
The program will offer a musical journey through centuries of liturgical and choral tradition, offering those present the opportunity to be guided by the beauty of polyphony and the spiritual recollection that sacred music can inspire.
The Spiritual Uplift will feature music by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Giovanni Croce, Edward Elgar, Cardinal Domenico Bartolucci, Lorenzo Perosi, and Théodore Dubois, in a journey that evokes the mystery of the Eucharist, Marian devotion, and the figure of the Apostle Peter.
The performance will be entrusted to the Choir of the Cappella Musicale Giulia, an ancient musical institution of the Papal Basilica of St. Peter, which for centuries has accompanied liturgical celebrations and preserves a precious tradition of sacred music at the service of prayer.
The event represents an opportunity to combine listening, contemplation, and faith in the heart of the Vatican Basilica, through the spiritual power of sacred music and liturgical tradition.
