Presentation of restoration work and new lighting in the chapel of our lady of Guadalupe

On the occasion of the feast day of the Virgin of Guadalupe, after the Holy Mass presided over by Pope Francis, a silver crown was placed on the mosaic image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, kept in the Sacred Grottoes of the Vatican, on the 12th December. The mosaic is located behind the altar of the Mexican Chapel, which, thanks to the support of devout benefactors from Mexico, has been restored and provided with new and evocative lighting. On Wednesday 13th December, the Christmas tree and the crib, placed at the exit of the Sacred Grottoes, which the State of Quintana Roo donated to the Fabbrica di San Pietro, were also inaugurated.
